Day 15: Wearing it on your sleeve

You wear this shirt
for its plum color but
not for the length
of the sleeves

and the dress you keep
for the complexity
of its texture, stiff but soft,
but not for the fit of it

the navy one because
in it, you feel covered
and no one will notice
any weight you have gained.

Still not one of them
ever completely sheds
itself of things you
will have to confront.

not white, because it means
something to you.
Not something dead

but living.
Not tidy
or still
but evolving.
