Day 5: Acrostics

Try writing an acrostic poem. Have the first letter of each line spell out the name of a person, place, or symbolic object.

First, let me say "thank you" for doing this. Although I love to dabble in poetry, I normally put it off. So, having a daily deadline is a real help!

Sacred space
Approaches my soul.
Covenants broken by sin,
Renewed by blood and body.
Anguish replaced by peace as
Minutes visit paradise, and
Eternity slips into spirit.
Now, I am whole.
The Lord is with me.

Opened and found
You (you).

Npr told me
On the radio yesterday that

Maybe we won't take the
Offensive against Iran.
Relief!
Everlasting gratitude to the gods!

What might have happened without
Assiduous intelligence people,
resolved to not attack
!rresponsibly again.

Here we go again.
Ornaments, trees, shopping, gifts;
Lights at night enough to challenge dawn
Implore us to look inside and find our own.
Days are filled with family, friends and too much food.
Afterwards the house settles to its old routine;
Year's end, time to diet, rest and start anew.

My parents inspired
In you and me a
Little more bravery—
Everyday, or maybe just
Some of the school days,

We walk the uphill
Incline to the top, the
Last stop on
Las Lomas.
Inside my chest, I leap
At your boundlessness. The
Miracle of
Seeing newness every time.

Usually looking for answers
Nothing seems to fit
Driving forward to the horizon
Ending up no closer
Resigned to circumnavigating
Standing still in defeat
Testimony will elevate me?
And provide a transcending view
No longer contained by horizons
Despite doubt.
Is there a God?
No proof
God give me hope.
